One of fifty seven Class 1800 engines built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. The mighty steam engine spent its last years in the Slaton Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe yard operation, and was donated to the City of Slaton when it retired in September 1955. It currently sits on the Town Square.
The Caprock Chapter of the Texas Air Museum is a dynamic tribute to those who served in our armed forces with air and ground memorabilia from all eras. The Museum has numerous aircraft and several buildings of displays. It is located three miles north of Slaton at the Municipal Airport on FM400.

Travel across the South Plains by train in this miniature re-creation of the tracks as they pass through the small towns of this area. Much care has been given to the accuracy of the details, both of the trains and of the small towns. Model railroaders and visitors alike will appreciate the quality and accuracy of this exhibit.
