COME STAY IN OUR HISTORIC INN

Established in 1912, the Slaton Harvey House was originally one of several restaurants constructed along the Santa Fe Railway route. This beautiful example of Mission Revival architecture was designed by renowned architect Louis Curtiss, known as the "Frank Lloyd Wright of Kansas City."

Today, the 1912 Slaton Harvey House is an historic one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast, event center, and railroad museum. The structure, one of only six Fred Harvey Eating House locations remaining in Texas, has been lovingly restored as a living history museum, with five beautifully appointed rooms for travelers and a spacious Events Center for special occasions. All rooms are handicap accessible, and guests have access to our living area with a table for games, reading about railroad history, and a seating area with north views for train watching on an active Burlington Northern Santa Fe railyard.

We hope you choose to visit us at the Slaton Harvey House and enjoy being surrounded by a unique part of our Texas history.

THINGS TO DO

Get to know the area

Founded by the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway in 1911, Slaton became a thriving railroad and cotton producing town. AT one point in the early 1900s, Slaton was an important location for the Santa Fe Railway system, and many of the company's employees and their families. Today, the Slaton community has a number of unique historical attractions related to its heyday.

Slaton is also just 15 miles from Lubbock, Texas, birthplace of Buddy Holly and home to the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Slaton and Lubbock area is also known for its award-winning wineries, including Llano Estacado Winery, Pheasant Ridge Winery, and and McPherson Cellars. Check out our Things to Do page for more nearby attractions, or give us a call.

We look forward to meeting you!

What a fun surprise to find in a small town. This museum / bed and breakfast is truly a treasure. The rooms are very nicely decorated and extremely comfortable. In addition, the history of the building is very interesting. Breakfast included a wide variety and was very good. It is approximately 10 minutes from Lubbock and well worth the drive!

A Night at the Museum! Not many museums where you can spend the night, particularly in comfortable guest rooms. This is one of them, a meticulously restored Harvey House Restaurant complete with many exhibits. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the facility's history. This is a great Bed and Breakfast, an event venue and Museum of Sante Fe railway history, Fred Harvey and this Harvey House Specifically.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Slaton Harvey House this past week. The building is beautiful, tastefully restored, and a great place to stay. The breakfast each morning was fantastic and served on elegant china in the historic dining room. The rooms were very nice, roomy, and well appointed. The staff (Lynn, Samantha, & Sandra) were delightful, friendly and welcoming. A highly recommended stop over in West Texas!
